inducted at Roseau county, Minn., on May 26, 1918; sent to Camp Lewis, Wash.; served in 19th Company, 5th Battalion, 166th Depot Brigade, to June 18, 1918; Company G, 158th Infantry, to Sept. 10, 1918; Company G, 128th Infantry, to death; overseas from Aug. 9, 1918, to death.

Engagement: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne. Killed in action, on Oct. 12, 1918; remains returned to U. S. on Aug. 16, 1921, and buried in Nordlands Cemetery, Bottineau, N. Dak.
