Helene Regne was born in Germany. She married Jacob Fries and had three children before the young family sailed steerage on the Norwegian ship, Noordland on July 12, 1893. They lived in Rippy, Iowa until sometime around 1920, when they left to farm in ND. She died and is buried in Mott, ND.
